Salim is a multifaceted artist with a passion for animation. His career trajectory as an artist of 20+ years includes solo shows and exhibitions in major metropolitan cities of Mexico, the US and Canada. His fascination for the visual arts came very naturally since a very young age and at the same time, his strong interest for animated movies and VFX.

 His pursuit of a career in animation has been facilitated by his early experience with a diversity of traditional media such as drawing, painting and sculpting. An artistic family lineage of four generations inspired him to engage with these forms of art, which motivated him to embrace his skills and apply them to his career objective. Salim believes that animation is a synthesis of his artistic talents and interests. 

 

        He was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he started a line of gallery shows and shared exhibitions with great maestros of the visual arts. Some of which include celebrities and personalities like Jose Fors, Alejandro Colunga, Jose Luis Valsoto, and Camilo Ramirez, among others. At the same time, his passion for animation grew stronger. Salim interned at TV channel Televisa, where he was able to work closely with the creative department of editorial and motion graphics where he got the real feel for the industry.

 

         

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

         At the age of 19, Salim moved from his hometown to pursue his career objective. He moved to Southern California to attend animation school at California State University at Fullerton. Making a living as a student by means of his own art work, only increased his passion and dedication for his career.

         He graduated in the fall of 2010 at the age of 24. Salim has been able to gain experience from positions at different studios and companies like DUCK Studios, a production house that specializes in animation, motion graphics and advertising for firms like, Walt Disney, Sony and COX Communications. His Goal is to keep expanding as an artist in the field of animation and VFX.

         Some of his most recent endeavors include directing and writing for live action and animated short films. He is always passionate about collaborating with other artists and diverse kinds of productions, studios and companies.
